Carmen Halpenny Carmen Halpenny has been providing quality childcare in the South Delta area for the past 21 years, and a preschool teacher for the past 8 years. Carmen has her Early Childhood Education certificate as well as years of related workshop certificates. Carmen started her teaching career at Charis Preschool in Steveston. Prior to becoming the owner and operator of High Hopes Preschool, Carmen was teaching at Secret Garden Preschool in Tsawwassen. A tremendous love and affection of children will keep her in the ECE field for years to come.

Stephanie Maitland Stephanie Maitland has over 12 years of volunteer and paid experience working with children of all ages and developmental stages. She has many years of experience as a manager at McDonald’s Restaurants. Stephanie graduated in June 2006 with her basic certificate in Early Childhood Education. In April 2009 she joined the Delta School District as an Educational Assistant. She also has a number of college level psychology credits, as well as her child safe 1st aid and food safe certificates. Stephanie is a very mature individual, who thoroughly enjoys her role as an Early Childhood Educator.

Amanda Ste. Croix has her Basic ECE Certificate through Delta Continuing Education. She graduated in June 2008. Amanda is a very caring person and her compassion for children is evident in the way she cares for and nurtures them. Amanda was selected to be the Manager at Holly’s High Hopes because she is a very hard working individual with a big heart. Her need for organization and her dedication to her work make her a vital asset to the success of Holly’s High Hopes.

Courtney Ellis is a mature young individual who has a true passion for working with children. Courtney is presently enrolled in The Early Childhood education program and looks forward to more childcare experience at Hollys High Hopes. Courtney is a very caring and lovable person, her smile is very contagious and we welcome her to the team with open arms.

Jennifer Shields Jennifer Shields has volunteered her time for many years as a coach for younger children. She spent her volunteer time coaching the swim team at Delta Secondary School as well as supporting a local soccer team as their goalie coach. Jenn is currently enrolled at Langara College, where she is in the process of obtaining her ECE certificate. We are excited to have Jenn as a member of our team as she prompts a balanced lifestyle and displays a strong passion for staying active. One of Jenn’s favourite sports is soccer.

Assistants, volunteers, practicum students, and parent-helpers are all required to have a criminal record check, be aged 19 years or older, and display a mature and professional attitude. They are required to be in good physical health and model appropriate behaviour at all times. Some participants may already be enrolled in an ECE training program.
